How I Collect and Use your Personal Data.

I will only ever collect and use the personal data that you first provide to me.

 

This includes the information you give to me when you;

• Information about your commissions and enquiries.

• Photographs of the commissions I undertake for you.

• Photographs of talks and workshops I provide for you.

There are a number of ways I may use your personal data. They are as follows:

• To send you updates and news about my business.

• To supply my products and services to you.

• For marketing purposes;
  I may share photos of commissions I have worked on for you on this website and on social media and I may tag you and share information about the commissions alongside the images.

• To update my own professional portfolio;
  I have my own private portfolio that I share with prospective clients.  This consists only of images, titles and dates of work (no personal data is included in this portfolio) This professional portfolio may be shared through email via a password protected link or may be shared in person, in a physical portfolio folder or in a digital presentation.

• To share with relevant third parties that help me complete commission work and/or organise workshop events and talks.

• To provide evidence of my own business tax returns.

• To comply with any legal proceedings I may be involved with and/ to comply with legal obligations, under the instruction of governmental authority or court order.

 

I currently don't use google analytics to gain information about my site, though I may choose to do so in the future. 

 

A Personal Commitment: 
I am well aware that for many customers, the products you ask me to make are often private until release.
Though I rely on good quality images to enhance my own portfolio, I am committed to respecting the privacy of your commissions and will never share images or information about the work I create for you until after your chosen deadline. I will always check with you prior to starting a commission what your public release date is. 
For example, you may come to me with a commission to create an embroidered wedding gift for a friend. I understand that you may not want anyone to see the gift until it has been received by your friend. You also, may not want anyone to know that I have been working on a gift for you until then. Therefore I will respect your own public release date and only release photos of this work after your gift has been received.

 

Storing Your Data

In all areas, I will store your personal data for as long as it is necessary for me to fulfil my services to you, or until you withdraw your consent from me. I will never store your data for longer than 7 years. I am currently in the process of finding out ways in which I can store your data more securely, so do come back to this site for any updates.

In all areas of my work, I endeavour to be clear with you and to communicate well with you regarding the services I provide and any queries you may have. 

 

My reasons for contacting you may include (though are not limited to):

• To send you updates about my business and the services I offer

• To contact you regarding a specific commission or order, and/ or any other agreement I have with you.

• To provide you with the products and services you have paid for.

• To collect fees or monies owed.

• To troubleshoot any problems or to resolve a dispute. 
   

So you know exactly what to expect, I have outlined the likely ways in which I will contact you below;

 

Via Email: In most circumstances, you will be contacted by email; either directly or through the relevant site related to your purchase. I will contact you via email with newsletters, promotions, and updates to the site and blog. I will also contact you via email to follow up on any communication initiated by you. To receive my newsletter you must sign up via the link on my website. All contacts who have made an enquiry via email will be sent a link to sign up to the newsletter. This is optional. All visitors who sign up to my newsletter can opt-out at any time.

By Phone/ Mobile: I will only contact you by telephone if either; you communicate with me first via telephone or if you have requested me to do so.

Via Skype: On occasion, for customers who would like a consultation about a commission/ talk or workshop, I may arrange a Skype conversation. In these circumstances, I will require to know your Skype name and will keep your Skype details for the duration of the project + 1 year, to allow for any follow-up. If you would like me to delete your Skype details once our communication is over, please make this clear to me and I will make sure they are deleted.

By Mail: All customers who have placed orders with me will receive their orders through the mail unless those customers in question have previously requested to collect their orders from me personally.

 

My Third Parties

I work with third parties to enhance and improve my business and to market my work. These third parties may collect and/or require personal or non-personal data. I have outlined an example of some of the third parties I work with and how I may share your data with them and vis versa. 

 

1. This site is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with an online platform that allows me to advertise my products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

2. I have signed up to Google Analytics. This platform uses the data that, visitors to my site share with Google (such as their general location and Ad preferences) and shares it with me so I can better understand who is visiting my site. Please note, no personal information is shared to me from google analytics and vis versa. 

3. I often work with a photographer to take pictures of my completed commissions, in this circumstance I may pass on details about your commission, but will not pass on any of your contact details or social media handles without your permission. 

4. I use Facebook and Instagram to communicate with followers and to advertise my services. I may share on Facebook or Instagram commissions that I have completed and reviews I have received. I will never share your personal contact information on Facebook or Instagram but may share some information about the commission(s) in question.
